This project produces impressive, long-lasting, golden relief panels whilst developing literacy and exploring the school environment.
With guidance, pupils respond to a text or develop their own. Each pupil could be given part of a story to illustrate or respond to, or could write a short story, poem or phrase of their own – these could be on a specific theme or be autobiographical.
They then gather a number of objects in connection with these pieces of text and these are carefully pressed into clay moulds from which a cast panel is made in-school. These panels are sprayed gold and hung inside or outside the school to form a lasting, golden story trail that can be changed and developed over time.
