SoundsCreative Projects

SoundsCreative Projects is a growing social enterprise that brings together people of all ages by conjuring up experiences, co-creating ideas, curating spaces and encouraging play through music and the arts.

SoundsCreative currently runs 5 regular neighbourhood projects for all ages across Islington & Hackney. These range from a creative half term project for young instrumentalists (SoundsCreative Ensemble), weekly interactive sessions for parents and babies (Tots Tunes) to a choir for adults who want to try out singing in a group (Vox Voices).

We are also commissioned to run bespoke musical experiences, co-created projects and creative training sessions both nationally and internationally, these are known as the conjure your own projects. Commissioning bodies so far are very varied and include; international arts and government funded organisations, schools, local authorities and charities supporting young musicians.

Tara Franks has worked with Music First since its birth in 2008. She has been at the forefront of planning and development as a Hub Leader and teacher as the work of the Charity has progressed. Tara has provided truly inspirational leadership for staff and children alike. Her boundless enthusiasm and encouragement has helped to raise self - esteem amongst countless children from disadvantaged backgrounds who often lack confidence and self - belief.

Tara sets the highest standards in performance and discipline for the children with a warm and pleasant approach. Not content with this, however, her creative instinct has helped them to gain confidence in improvisation and freer expression musically. It is this approach which has found its most extensive development in the SoundsCreative projects and performances. We have been very happy to act as partner with Tara to help her develop this very important part of her work which utilises her considerable talents for the benefit of the children in her care.
